This varied set of Japanese scissors consists of 7 "Oire Nomi" with widths of 3, 9, 12, 15, 24, 30, 42mm and a length of 220mm. These are new old stock tools and directly imported from Japan. The handles are made of Japanese red oak, except the 3mm which is made of white oak.
The Ura (shape at the back of the iron) are very well executed. These are scissors made by very good blacksmiths. The 42mm is from the brand "Nagaoke", the 3mm is forged by "Kikuhiromaru", the 30, 12 and 9mm were forged by Tokihiro. The irons are made of white steel (white steel 1) carbonized bi-layer hand forged. There is a good layer of hard steel whose rolling goes up well on the side (guarantee of quality). These are scissors forged in the old way with a coal forge (except the more recent 3mm). These will be very easy scissors to sharpen.
These "Oire Nomi" scissors are short, they are 220mm. They are therefore perfectly suited to carrying out small, precise jobs. These Japanese scissors are difficult to find in this quality. These are excellent scissors to discover something more high-end and to deepen the use of such scissors.
Like all new scissors, a fine sharpening is to be expected, as well as the adjustment of the ferrule. Yes, generally manufacturers roughly sharpen their production to save time.
