This set of 7 Japanese "Oire Nomi" scissors with widths of 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 30mm and a length of 220mm. These are vintage tools, some used and directly imported from Japan. The 6, 12 and 15mm are new. The handles are made of red oak and boxwood (Gumi) from Japan. The boxwood ones are from the "Takahiro" brand.

The Ura (shape at the back of the iron) are very well executed. These are scissors made by good blacksmiths. This can be seen in the workmanship of the necks and the forging of the rolling. The irons are made of high-carbon steel, two-layer, hand-forged. There is a good layer of hard steel whose rolling goes up well on the side (a guarantee of quality). These are scissors forged in the old-fashioned way with a coal forge.

These will be very easy to sharpen scissors. These "Oire Nomi" scissors are short, they are 220mm. They are therefore perfectly suited to carrying out small, precise jobs. These Japanese scissors are difficult to find in this quality.

These are excellent scissors to discover some more high-end things and to deepen the use of such scissors. Like all new scissors, a fine sharpening is to be expected, as well as the adjustment of the ferrule. Yes, generally manufacturers roughly sharpen their production to save time. In Japan it is always up to the purchaser of the tool to finalize and adapt the tool to his own use, it is a philosophy of the tool ... I will provide all the advice to be able to obtain an adjustment.

With these tools, you can discover Japanese tools. For cabinetmakers, sculptors, carpenters, or simply (advanced) DIY enthusiasts.
