This Japanese handcrafted saw is forged. It is an extra-fine "Dozuki" (back) type called "Dozuki Nokogiri" (saw) more precisely. This is a vintage saw hand forged by "Sadaharu Okabe".
Its blade length (cutting part) is 240mm, its total length is 515mm. It is extra thin: 0.2mm. It is directly imported from Japan. This type of extra thin back saw allows to have a perfect cutting area for assemblies. The teeth are in perfect condition. This type of saw is very difficult to find in this quality (hand forged).
This Nokogiri is hand forged. The saw is therefore sharpenable. It is supplied without a handle. I sell handles for €10. It is intended for advanced users, because it must be used correctly to avoid damaging them (cutting angle, etc.). This saw has excellent cutting life thanks to its carbon steel.
This saw is very efficient for all cabinetmaking and small assembly work. This type of saw sells today for around €300, so my price is really very very reasonable.
Unlike European saws, Japanese saws are pulled instead of pushed like our handsaws. This maneuverability allows for more precise and straighter cuts.
