This small Japanese saw "Ryoba" is double-toothed. Its blade length is 180mm (cutting area), the total length is 470mm. Its thickness is 0.35mm, its cutting line is 0.6mm. It is a saw produced by the Hishika firm in a semi-artisanal way in the city of Miki famous for its tool production. It is directly imported from Japan.

It has an excellent cutting edge longevity thanks to its carbon steel. It is intended for advanced users, because it must be used correctly to avoid damaging it (no curve...). It is perfect for cutting small sections and making small assemblies. This saw is very efficient for all cabinetmaking and violin making work in particular.

Unlike European saws, Japanese saws are pulled instead of pushed like our handsaws. This maneuverability allows for more precise and straighter cuts. These saws should be greased (camellia oil) as often as possible and stored away from humidity. Also avoid working when your workshop is too cold (>10°). I would like to point out that all these saws should only be used to cut wood and not bamboo or plastics. (Yes, there are some who have tried...).

With these tools, you will be able to discover Japanese tools. For carpenters, joiners or simply DIY enthusiasts (advanced level).
