This saw is hand forged. It is vintage and directly imported from Japan. It has the blacksmith's mark "Masao Shibuya".

Its blade length is 270mm (cutting area). It is still in its anti-humidity paper and its original cover; It is new and in perfect condition.

The saw is of quality: AAAA*. C

This Nokogiri (saw) is hand-forged. It is therefore sharpenable, I also sell files designed for this purpose. It has an excellent cutting edge longevity thanks to its carbon steel. It is intended for advanced users, because it must be used correctly to avoid damaging it (no curve...).

It is perfect for cutting large sections and making large assemblies. This saw is very efficient for all carpentry work in particular. It is supplied without a handle. Making a handle is a fairly simple operation. I would give advice on how to do this. J

Unlike European saws, Japanese saws are pulled instead of pushed like our handsaws. This maneuverability allows for more precise and straighter cuts.

*Here is my grading system for the quality of forged saws: AAAA, AAA, AA, A, B, C.

AAAA: zero defects, excellent quality.

AAA: zero defects, excellent workmanship but may have a patina due to storage.

AA: zero defects, well made and has a patina due to storage.

A: Good quality and slight oxidation in places due to storage.

B: standard invoice and slight oxidation in places due to storage.

C: oxidation on part of the teeth.

These saws should be greased (camellia oil) as often as possible and stored away from humidity. Also avoid working when your workshop is too cold (>10°). I would like to point out that all these saws should only be used to cut wood and not bamboo or plastics. (Yes, there are some who have tried...).

With this tool, you will be able to discover Japanese tools. For carpenters, joiners or simply handymen (advanced level).
