Beautiful vintage NOS (new old stock) Japanese "Kiridashi" knife. It is new and directly imported from Japan.
The blade is 84mm long from the top of the tang. The cutting edge is 67mm and its thickness is about 3.6mm. The blade is made of high carbon steel forged in two layers. It has a beautiful file finish and the forge black is intense. The ura (hollow at the back) is particularly well done.
You will need to make a handle from a soft wood. This type of Kiridashi is essential in any good workshop, properly sharpened, it is used for many tasks. It is a cutter, a slicer, a knife for leather, a knife for marking or carving wood.
